Our Mission & Vision
WAMATA was established in 1989 with incumbent social workers and philanthropists who joined efforts to promote the welfare of citizens when HIV was generalized as a pandemic with about 900,000 PLHIVs (7.2% prevalence).
Vision
WAMATA’s vision is ‘‘A Civil Society that is able to prevent, control and mitigate the effects of HIV/AIDS’.
Mission
Our mission is to engage communities, research and innovate, build capacity and create HIV/AIDS solutions in order to reduce new infections and improve health and well-being.
